LENXA, Kan. — Students will be allowed to return to Rosehill Elementary School in Lenexa on Monday. The school was closed for two days following several absences due to a gastrointestinal illness.
The school was thoroughly cleaned while it was closed. Health officials advise the best way to fight sickness is vigorous hand washing. If your child shows signs of sickness including vomiting and diarrhea, officials ask that they stay home in an effort to keep others from getting sick. They can return to school once they’ve been symptom free for at least 24 hours.
The Shawnee Mission School District says they have not determined the source of the illness. The Johnson County Health Department is investigating the outbreak.
